A true account of murders that terrorized New Jersey beach towns between 1974 and 1983. During this period, young women disappeared from the shore, abducted by Richard Biegenwald, a man who had been released after serving seventeen years in prison for murder and time in a psychiatric facility. Police arrested him on suspicion of rape. The investigation intensified when authorities connected him to a woman's death in Asbury Park, which led to the end of his crimes. Investigators eventually linked him to nine murders total and secured convictions on five counts. Former New Jersey state trooper John E. O'Rourke presents this account of the Jersey Shore Thrill Killer and the investigation that stopped him.
