Dead Mountain (Nora Kelly Book 4)

Archaeologist Nora Kelly and FBI Agent Corrie Swanson investigate a mystery from 2008, when nine mountaineers disappeared during a winter backpacking trip in the New Mexico mountains. At their final campsite, searchers discovered a disturbing scene: something had frightened the group so severely that they slashed their way out of their tent and fled barefoot into a blizzard. Only six bodies were recovered, two of which were violently crushed and missing their eyes. The case, code-named "Dead Mountain" by the FBI, remained unsolved. Fifteen years later, two additional bodies from the expedition are found in a cave, including one apparent suicide. Corrie and Nora team up to determine what occurred during that expedition and locate the ninth victim. However, their investigation stirs something dangerous that actively works to stop them from uncovering the truth about the final missing body.
