May 1945. Berlin has fallen and the world celebrates the end of the war and the reported death of Adolf Hitler. However, a young Jewish survivor claims she saw him alive. Second Lieutenant Cy Jacobson, a recent West Point graduate with no combat experience, is ordered to investigate a hidden Nazi tunnel complex beneath the Austrian hills. There he meets Rachel Cohen, an eighteen-year-old survivor whose eyewitness account could change history. If she is correct, the war is not over. As Allied intelligence receives reports that Hitler may have escaped Berlin, a covert unit is formed and sent across Europe. Their mission is to find the truth and stop what comes next. The search takes them from the ruins of Berlin to secret mountain strongholds and routes into South America, as they race to prevent a second catastrophe.
