Perfect for you if...

  • You're a Christian earning good money but feel pulled between comfort and conviction, and want biblical principles that actually work in spreadsheets.
  • You've read prosperity gospel messaging and something feels off. You want to understand what the Bible actually says about wealth, generosity, and enough.
  • You're building wealth responsibly but suspect you might be missing something deeper about what God wants from your financial life.

Maybe not for you if...

  • You're looking for get-rich-quick schemes or investment tips. This is about reframing your relationship with money, not multiplying it.
  • You're not religious or uncomfortable with explicitly Christian frameworks. This book centres biblical teaching throughout.
  • You want to minimise or eliminate all personal wealth. The authors focus on wise stewardship, not renunciation.

About this book

John Cortines and Gregory Baumer met as Harvard MBA candidates in a men's Bible study and began reconsidering their approach to money. Rather than asking "How much should I give?" they shifted to asking "How much do I need to keep?" Despite their education and rising careers offering financial security, they found their plans for saving and spending challenged by what they understood as God's call to generosity, leading each to make significant life decisions. The book explains how to give generously while managing finances responsibly. It provides practical tools for budgeting, stewarding money, and preparing for future needs like home ownership, retirement, and education. Drawing on Old Testament and New Testament passages, modern case studies, and biblical parables including the Rich Young Ruler and the Widow's Mite, the book addresses tithing, wealth, stewardship, faith, and generosity. Topics covered include what the Bible says about money and tithing, discerning when to give and when not to give, and applying biblical principles to various financial situations. The authors argue that how people manage money is critical to their relationship with God. 100% of author royalties go toward Christian ministries focused on spreading the Gospel and providing for those in need.
