About this book

Tayo, a World War II veteran of mixed ancestry, returns to the Laguna Pueblo Reservation after being held as a prisoner of war by the Japanese. Deeply scarred by his captivity and rejected by his community, he seeks healing by reconnecting with Indian traditions and the past. First published over thirty-five years ago, Ceremony remains a significant work of Native American literature.
