About this book

Bowl of Heaven is the first collaboration between science fiction authors Larry Niven and Gregory Benford. A human expedition traveling to another star system encounters an enormous artifact in interstellar space: a bowl-shaped structure half-englobing a star with a habitable area equivalent to millions of Earths. The structure is on a direct collision course with the human ship's destination. A landing party investigates the Bowl, but the explorers become separated. One group is captured by the structure's alien inhabitants while the other is pursued across its strange and dangerous landscape. As the human voyagers work to uncover the Bowl's origins and purpose, they make discoveries that fundamentally alter their understanding of humanity's place in the universe.
