All the Glimmering Stars: A Novel

Inspired by a true story, All the Glimmering Stars follows Anthony Opoka and Florence Okori, two outstanding students coming of age in Uganda during the 1990s. Both are kidnapped and forced into the Lord's Resistance Army, a militant group led by Joseph Kony. Anthony gains unusual proximity to Kony and access to his secrets, while both teens draw strength from their upbringings to maintain their humanity amid the chaos. When they meet by chance, Anthony and Florence fall in love and begin to envision escape from captivity. They dedicate themselves to helping fellow child soldiers flee and reunite with their families, guided by the stars. The novel moves between tender and shocking moments as it chronicles their journey toward survival and redemption. An afterword by Anthony and Florence Opoka is included.
